Jan 10 2019, 2:37 am

It’s been a snowy, cold and icy first full week back at work this week and luckily, that weekend is in our sights.

To help make it feel like Friday shows up a teeny bit quicker, here are five things to check out in Montreal today, January 10.

Pente à Neige

After this week’s burst of snow, how about hitting up the city’s man-made urban ski hill?

Get all the fun of a ski hill without having to leave Montreal island.

The second edition of the hill can host up to 250 riders, the slope is 280 metres long and has professionals on site to teach people proper skiing/snowboarding/falling down techniques.

When: Thursday, January 10
Time: 10 am – 6 pm
Where: Parc Ignace-Bourget
Price: Free admission

Dream Land

How about one last night to celebrate the holidays?

Tonight is Sami Hajjar’s last night of his yearly ‘Christmas Display’ house in the West Island, before he packs up his 250,000 lights for the year.

Compared to last year’s ‘Frozen Land,’  ‘Dream Land’ features a quarter of a million lights, inflatables and synchronized music that plays to five Disney songs, four times a day.

When: Thursday, January 10
Time: 6 pm – 9 pm (Every hour)
Where: 9035 Jean-Bourdon Avenue, West Island
Price: Free

Board Games Night

It’s cold. It’s snowy. It’s dark.

All the perfect reasons to sit inside and play board games all night. The Thompson House will have all the classic board games everyone loves except there will be snacks and a bar.

Drunk Clue, anybody?

When: Thursday, January 10

Natrel Skating Rink

Known for its outstanding quality of ice, excellent facilities, and breathtaking views of the city and the Saint Lawrence River, this is the place to go skating in Montreal.

There’s no better way to stick it to winter than bundling up and hitting the ice.

The chilled 2,500 square metre rink features a cozy village right in front of the ice and is a puck’s throw away from Bistro Bonsecours for a little post-game refresher.

Natrel’s Skating Rink plays rock, classical and jazz music on large outdoor speakers to add to your soundtrack of whizzing down the ice.

When: Thursday, January 10
Time: 10 am – 10 pm
Where: Natrel Skating Rink, Bonsecours Basin
Price: $6.95 general admission, $4.90 kids aged six to 12, free for children under six

reMIXed on Dragon’s Den

The Montreal-based company that sells snacks from dehydrated beans and re-purposed fruit is hosting a premiere party for their appearance on CBC’s show, Dragon’s Den.

Nobody knows (granted, they probably do) if they got an offer on the entrepreneur-based show so it’ll be exciting to be with the company as the episode unfolds.

It’s also a great opportunity to nab some seriously tasty treats.

When: Thursday, January 10
Time: 8 pm – 9:15 pm
Where: reMIXed, 5333 Casgrain Avenue
