Glen Moray Scotch Whisky Tasting

Start your week off with a touch of class and a taste of hooch.

Bootlegger is hosting the Quebec Brand Ambassador for Glen Moray with seven bottles of the single malt scotch whisky.

Testers from the Glen Moray Chardonnay Cask, Port Cask, Peated, 12 year Bourbon Cask, and the Glen Moray 15, 18 and the rare 25 will be available.

Just in time for next month’s St. Paddy’s Day celebrations.

La Poutine Week Montreal

Your New Years resolutions can be put on hold for a week because, during the first week of February, things will get greasy.

If you thought the poutine in itself is delicious, how about an entire week-long festival devoted to the tasty dish?

La Poutine Week has returned to the city until February 7 as a variety of Montreal spots will create their own signature poutine-dish, vying to become the city-wide champion, voted by restaurant patrons.

Atrium Le 1000

If the weather doesn’t bode well with you this weekend, lace up the skates and glide to the lively beat of music at the Atrium inside one of the tallest buildings in Montreal. The rink is covered under an immense glass dome so you can feel like you’re outside without having to deal with the pesky weather. Plus, it’s gorgeously decorated for the holidays.

McKibbin’s Pub Stumpers

Test your trivia knowledge at McKibbin’s Irish Pub tonight.

The pub’s trivia has five rounds, general knowledge multiple choice, short answer, a picture round, and a music round. The winner of each round receives free drinks or a round of shots. A round for a round – good trade.

The World’s Smallest Open Mic

Local comedians Walter J Lyng and Vance Michel host what they call “the smallest open mic show in the world.”

Keep in mind, the comedians aren’t small, the venue is.

Featured acts include Jason Celin, Shawn Stenhouse, Michelle Dominique, James Oakley, Arman Soltani and Elspeth Remine Wright.

Organizers warn that only 20 seats are available, so get there quickly.
