Don’t get down on yourself just because it’s a Monday. There’s a bunch of fun events happening around Montreal today, August 6, to clear your Osheaga blues and to get your week jump started.

Martin Garrix at Beachclub

Beachclub was packed on Saturday and Sunday and will keep the party going well into Monday as well.

The Dutch DJ will headline the show today at North America’s largest outdoor club. Food vendors, bar outlets, a massive beach, pools and fist pumping. Yeah, that’s a Monday starter.

The first 1,000 tickets are going for $30 so act fast. There are also shuttle buses leaving from the Quartier Dix30 and Montmorency Metro.

Rogers Cup

With qualifiers all done, the first round of the Women’s bracket of the Rogers Cup gets underway at the gorgeous IGA Stadium.

Haunted Griffintown

Besides being one of Montreal’s most historic neighbourhoods, it’s also one of the city’s most haunted.

The district has witnessed everything from dying Irish refugees during the Famine of 1847 to the myth of Mary Gallagher, the headless prostitute. Today, condos are popping up all over the Griff, but new residents are quickly learning that it’s ghost-ridden Mary Gallagher.

Super Mario Smash Loft Tournament

Everyone loves a bit of Super Smash Bros. The SSBMontreal runs a Super Smash Bros. tournament where enthusiasts compete against each other in order to win prizes. The multiple screen tournament has singles and doubles brackets.

The Monday Mix at the Comedy Nest

Start the week off with some laughs. If Just for Laughs didn’t empty out your laugh tank, the Comedy Nest hosts a weekly variety show. The cozy club features open-mic comedians, improv, magicians, jugglers, sketch comedy, and musical acts. The show is hosted by Just For Laughs Zoofest vet Darren Henwood and audience members get free popcorn.
