The Cats musical is coming to Place des Arts this spring

One of the biggest hits in theatrical history is strutting its way towards Place des Arts in 2020.

Cats, the record-breaking musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is now on tour across North America and the cast will be swatting their paws at Place des Arts for eight shows from March 17 to 22.

According to the Place des Arts website, the musical will feature new sound design, direction, and choreography for “a new generation” of fans. “Live the Cats experience for the first time as it begins a new life, or let it thrill you all over again.”

Having won seven Tony Awards including best musical, Cats tells the story of an extraordinary tribe of felines who gather for their annual ball to rejoice, dance, and sing while deciding which cat will be reborn.

The production has been performed in over 30 countries and 15 languages around the world.

The revamped classic will feature Webber’s original score, original scenic and costume design by John Napier, all-new lighting design by Natasha Katz, all-new sound design by Mick Potter, new choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne and will be directed by Trevor Nunn.

Tickets are now available through the Place des Arts website. Sounds like a purrfect Christmas gift (sorry, we had to).
