Thousands attend anti-racism protest in Montreal for second week in a row (PHOTOS)
Thousands of people took to the streets of Montreal on Sunday to take a stance against racism, police brutality, and systemic discrimination, following the lead of Canadian and American communities across North America.
This is the second weekend in a row that herds of Montrealers have marched in solidarity, with yesterday’s protest resulting in a calmer and less-frantic gathering than last Sunday.
Protesters from different communities and of all ages crowded into downtown before peacefully marching to Dorchester Square.

Hundreds also gathered at Loyola Park in NDG for a powerful moment of silence.
Protesters were calling out Quebec Premier Franรงois Legault for his claim that the province doesn’t have a systemic racism problem. Last week, the premier said systemic discrimination “does not exist” in Quebec, claiming only a “small minority” of people experience racism in our province.
Here are some powerful photos and videos from Instagram on Monday morning of Montrealers taking a unifying stance.
