The Vancouver Police Department is receiving some hilarious feedback for its choice of photo for a social media post warning the public about burglars.
“If a stranger comes to your door & asks to come in to use your telephone, tell them “No” & don’t let them in. Thieves will enter your home & the moment you turn your back they’ll help themselves to your wallet or any valuables laying around,” wrote the VPD in its tweet.

The post shows a photo of a young man with messy blonde hair posing with a moody pout who looks more like an Instagram model than a burglar — and people took notice.
The tweet got a flood of replies poking fun at this so-called “burglar” with some pointing out that he looks like a character from the Twilight movies.
He’s out there stealing hearts!

Well said, be safe everyone. Also be safe from any pouty seductive models who refuse to wear full jackets

If a stranger comes to your door and asks to see your bicycle tell him āNoā and donāt let him near it. The moment you turn your back heāll grease the chain and calibrate your brakes.#MakeLifeHardForBenevolentTravellingBicycleMechanics pic.twitter.com/ZzlmIkyoe4

If a stranger comes to your door & asks to use your chair, tell them āNoā & donāt let them sit down. The moment you turn your back theyāll nonchalantly inspect their nails while tilting their feet up at weird angles. pic.twitter.com/NqIPJOWNVf

Cst. Anne-Marie Clark with the VPD got a good laugh out of all the comments.
Thx for the shares & šcomments.
A #Thief could look like anyone, even an extra from one of the #Twilight movies…The person is a stranger & if they need help, pls call the appropriate people to assist but donāt let them into your home & turn your back. #MakeLifeHardForThieves

If you’re wondering who this pouty-faced robber is, he’s actually a model in LA who poses for trendy stock photos.
Point taken; but was it necessary to misrepresent the likeness of an unrelated bystander (who seems to be a young fashion model in Los Angeles) as a hypothetical burgular?
Young lad looks like he struts a mean fashion show catwalk more than burgle homes.https://t.co/pQ6iCIbue8
