West Island pub warns of possible coronavirus exposure

McKibbin’s Irish Pub in Pointe-Claire is warning its clients of potential coronavirus exposure after one of its staff members tested positive for the virus.

While McKibbin’s says the “risk of exposure to clients is low,” the pub says it is implementing all of the government’s safety guidelines.

The Irish pub is encouraging anyone who has visited the West Island location to go get tested.

McKibbin’s will close for the next 48 hours to disinfect and sanitize the restaurant.

McKibbin’s did not mention when the staff member who tested positive last worked, but the pub has been reopened since June 23.

According to the pub’s Facebook page, everyone on the staff will get tested before the pub reopens to the public for the weekend.

Last week, the Quebec government announced stricter rules for bars throughout the province to follow in order to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.
