Montreal’s pizza scene just added a new style of pie to its tasty repertoire.

Brigade Pizza, which has been slinging wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas since 2015, has just added Detroit-style pizzas to its menu.

A fan favourite from the Motor City, Detroit-style pizza is a rectangular, thick, and airy pizza with crispy toasted cheese edges.

Are you convinced yet?

In a press release shared with Daily Hive, Brigade Pizza CEO Jean-Daniel Nadeau says the Detroit-style pie is “everything we love about pizza,” a long dough fermentation mixed with a combination of soft, chewy, and crunchy textures.

“We were researching and developing the Detroit-style pizza for a few months just before the pandemic,” says Nadeau. “This is something we were so passionate about. If anything the quarantine taught us is that nothing should be taken for granted, especially time. We didn’t want to wait any longer. We thought let’s do this Detroit Style, and let’s do it right. We are so excited about the launch of the Detroit Pizza for the summer!”

Brigade Pizza is located at 1428 Rue Stanley, in the heart of the Golden Square Mile of downtown Montreal.

The Detroit-style pizzas is available for dine in, take out or through delivery platforms Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes, and DoorDash.
