Here's what downtown Montreal's new gourmet food and beer garden looks like (PHOTOS)

Montreal’s been churning out deluxe food courts in recent months and Ville Marie’s Le Cathcart is the latest spot aiming to fill foodie’s stomachs and quench some thirsts.

As part of Ville Marie’s $200-million facelift, the now-closed Place Ville Marie food court has been transformed into Le Cathcart, a gourmet food and beer garden.

Open seven days a week, all year round, the 35-000-sq-ft biergarten offers seating for more than a thousand people with three full-service restaurants, nine food kiosks, and two cafes, aiming to become the go-to destination for business lunches, happy hour, and festive evenings alike.

“Designed as a public space bathed in light and vegetation, this indoor garden will offer a festive social experience where people can enjoy good food and drink, quickly becoming a lively meeting place adapted to the ebb and flow of daily life, and ideal for after-work get-togethers,” reads Le Cathcart’s website.

The glass-ceilinged food court opened to the public yesterday and boasts an impressive grouping of local eats.

Full-service restaurants:

• Akio (Japanese cantina)
• Pizza del Fornaio (pizzeria)
• Mirabel (brasserie)

Street-food counters:

• Dirty Greens (salads and healthy delights)
• Patzzi (Italian sandwiches)
• Chikin (Korean fried chicken)
• Tulum Taqueria and Karma Poke (Mexican and poke bowls)
• Uniberger (hamburgers, fries, and shakes)
• Omnivore (Lebanese cuisine)
• Caffé Veloce (coffee, pastries, and ice cream)
• Hà (South-East Asian cuisine)
• Mon Nan (Chinese cuisine)
