Parts of the Lachine Canal will be closed for repairs this summer

A stretch of the Lachine Canal will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists this spring and summer due to repairs.

Earlier this month, Parks Canada announced that a seven-kilometre area from De l’Église Avenue in the Sud­-Ouest borough to Du Musée Road in LaSalle will be closed to the public for rehabilitation of the walls and lighting network, north and south sides.

Parks Canada has also announced that there will be repairs conducted along St. Joseph Boulevard between 18th and 21st Avenue. The area was closed to pedestrian traffic as well as the navigation of small craft in the canal.
