Meghan Markle is rocking a necklace by a talented Indigenous artist that was gifted to her while she was in Vancouver.

Markle stopped by a couple of women’s organizations in the city, including Justice for Girls, where she was photographed wearing a pendant by Haisla Nation artist Hollie Bartlett.

Vancouver’s Douglas Reynolds Gallery, where some of Bartlett’s work displayed, revealed the artist chose the necklace carved in the shape of a killer whale’s tail specifically for the Duchess of Sussex.

“Thank you [Meghan Markle] for looking so beautiful while supporting our northwest coast Indigenous artists,” the gallery wrote in an Instagram post.

The 18-karat yellow gold pendant features a solitary diamond on the whale’s tail. It’s one of Bartlett’s favourite designs, and is popular among customers who visit the gallery, staff wrote.

Apparently the design has become even more popular since Markle was spotted wearing it.

“Due to the recent media press this item is by order only,” the gallery wrote on its website.

The version gifted to Markle retails for $2,160. Similar necklaces are also available in rose gold and sterling silver.
