Over 50 Hydro-Québec teams are working to restore power across the province after hundreds of outages were caused by today’s wind storm.

“Power outages started early this morning, around 2:00 am, when more than 50 teams were on the job. All regions of the province are affected by blackouts, particularly in Montérégie,” said Hydro-Québec in a statement.

“More than 300 linemen are mobilized to restore service as quickly as possible.”

Over 200,000 customers are still without power.

More outages are expected throughout the day as strong winds continue.

According to Environment Canada, gusts over 90 km/h are expected for several areas in the province.
