Grand Prix Montreal releases official event listings for the summer

The Canadian Grand Prix is so much more than just a race.

It’s a weekend full of events and activities for locals and people from all over the world to enjoy. Including all the pre-festivities and post-parties, the Grand Prix in Montreal takes place from June 7 – 10.

Entering its 40th year in Montreal, the Grand Prix has released its official itinerary for the weekend.

Check back with us on where to go and what to do for the full Montreal F1 experience, but for now, here are the Grand Prix’s official event listings.

Place F1 GP Canada 2018

The historic Dorchester Square hosts the festival for the second year in a row. The Place F1 GP is a spot for spectators who can’t be at the actual track. Place F1 GP kicks off the festival by closing off Rue Peel to motorists to ironically fuel everyone’s love for cars.

Take in the sights of historic Formula 1 cars of the past and get close to the newest luxurious Mercedes models of the future.

The site will also have D-BOX racing simulators and a go-kart track. In addition, fans will be able to watch the Sunday race live on the giant screens, both indoors and outdoors.

Chandon Terrace will be selling champagne and cocktails and will feature a variety of food trucks, live DJs and renowned mixologists.

Time: 11 am to 10 pm on Thursday, 10 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday

Le Grand Soir

The Canadian Grand Prix’s opening soiree happens at the Iberville Cruise Terminal in the Old Port on Thursday night. The red carpet cocktail starts at 6 pm and dinner is served at 7 pm.

The event is held under the honorary president of  Mr. Tony Loffreda, CPA, Vice-Chairman of RBC and is dedicated to raising funds for Canadian families charity.

The dress code is chic and elegant and if you don’t feel like spending the money to attend the event, gather at the top of the pier to get a stunning view of luxury boats, vintage cars, and Montreal’s elite.

Formula 1 Pirelli Hot Lap

Formula 1 Grand Prix Canada is giving away an opportunity to take a thrill ride of a lifetime. Two ticket holders will be chosen at random to be driven in a super by a professional race car driver on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit.

The winner will also receive a pair of paddock passes eligible for use on the Thursday.

The Grand Walk

For the first time this year, fans will be able to walk the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit.

Fans will be able to experience what the drivers see during the Grand Walk in which participants walk the path of the course. Smell the tire rubber from the day’s time trials, touch the cement guardrails, and witness the grandstand that will welcome thousands of fans.

All proceeds of the Grand Walk are given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Red Carpet Party

The elegant Restaurant Richmond has organized a red carpet gala with a very strict chic and extravagant dress code. Guests have the opportunity to be on the red carpet with athletes and celebrities and have your photos taken by professional photographers.

A stand-up dinner and open-bar service happens all night long.  Along with VIP treatment, and live DJs
