Just for Laughs (JFL), Montreal’s world-famous comedy series is looking to make waves during their 2018 summer festival. The popular event will be returning to Montreal for its 36th edition and has announced some serious star power with its first set of performers.
Two highly-anticipated galas, which take place at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts, will be hosted by Trevor Noah. The Emmy and Peabody-award-winning host of the Daily Show, known as one of the funniest men in late-night talk-shows, will be performing on Saturday, July 28, at 6 pm and 8:30 pm.
Breakout sensation Tiffany Haddish, who has quickly become one of the most sought-after comedic actresses in history, will be hosting her first ever JFL Gala in July. She’ll be making her debut with the ‘Tiffany Haddish Gala’, which will showcase her and a number of other comedians and special guests for one night only. She’ll be performing on Saturday, July 28 at 11 pm.
While more Galas will be announced in the upcoming weeks, JFL has also announced several solo shows.
Jo Koy’s Break The Mold Tour will be stopping in Montreal on Saturday, July 28. The comedian recently broke a record in Honolulu with 11 sold-out shows and more than 23,000 tickets sold. He’ll be performing at the Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts at 9:30 pm.
Jimmy Carr will be bringing his Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits World Tour to Montreal for nine shows. Carr has recently been travelling worldwide for this tour, including stops in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Canada. He’ll be performing shows from Saturday, July 21 to Sunday, July 29 at Le Gesú Theatre.
Finally, comedy idol Kevin Hart will be taking to the Bell Centre in Montreal for one special evening. His Irresponsible Tour will be taking place on Friday, July 27, at 8 pm.
Tickets for the JFL Festival go on sale starting Wednesday, April 18. Guests can purchase a two-show pass for $100, a 3-show pass for $140, and a 5-show pass for $215. Tickets may be purchased online.
