A free celebrity soccer tournament is happening in Montreal this weekend

GOAL MTL – Lions Cup Soccer Tournament returns to Montreal this weekend with a jam-packed schedule of family fun.

Two teams will face off in this unique sporting event. The first, comprising members of Montreal’s bar and restaurant scene. And the second, a team made up of local celebrities, ranging from Conor McKenna (TSN 690), Bilal Butt (CHOM FM), and Patrick Langlois (Energie Radio, Global Citizen, iHeartRadio Quebec ambassador), to Laura Casella (Global TV), Kim Sullivan (Global TV), and Mose Persico (CTV). Plus, the celebrity team will be coached by Montreal Alouettes defenceman, John Bowman.

In addition to the big game, there will be a number of activities set up on site.


These include a complimentary yoga class from Lululemon, a DJ team and steel drum band, complimentary haircuts from Maison Privee, a live performance from Freestyle Soccer, a kid’s zone, a video game lounge, and a Passion Soccer Boutique showcasing the soccer latest equipment.

Plus, there will be specialty cocktails created just for the event as well as food from Brit & Chips, Houston’s, Bishop & Bagg, and Boom J’s, and beer from Molson, Carlsberg, Labatt, and Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Finally, GOAL MTL is a charity soccer tournament and all proceeds from this year’s event will go towards Global Citizen.
