Ok, this is getting out of hand.

Drake may be beloved for his musical talents, but for sports fans, he’s become one big jinx.

Whenever the Toronto hip hop artist lends his support to a team, they seem to inevitably lose. Talk of the “Drake Curse” has intensified on social media in recent months, so much so that the man himself even acknowledged it during the NFL playoffs in January.

So when Drake showed up to the Air Canada Centre in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey on Wednesday, fans on social media immediately began to expect the worst. The Leafs went on to lose the playoff game 6-4.

On a Thursday conference call, one member of the media actually asked Leafs head coach Mike Babcock about the Drake Curse. He gave the question an appropriate answer.

But talk of the Drake Curse isn’t going away. AS Roma, a professional soccer team in Italy, has “banned” their players from taking photos with Drake until the end of the season.

We think they’re joking.

But maybe not. The list of Drake Curse victims is long and includes the Raptors, Leafs, University of Alabama football team, Serena Williams, Connor McGregor, and the University of Kentucky basketball, among others.

AS Roma’s tweet came afterĀ Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa posed for a picture with Drake. Kurzawa’s team went on to lose 5-1 in their next game.

Unless Drake hits up Boston or Orlando on Friday, the Leafs and Raptors should escape his hex for their next playoff games.

Thankfully for Blue Jays fans, their team is on the road too.
