Public health has updated the region’s data in connection to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Montreal metropolitan area has the unenviable role of having the most cases throughout the province.
With 29,515 known cases of the virus as of August 20, Montreal accounts for 48% of Quebec’s 61,402 total. Montreal also makes up 3,465 of Quebec’s 5,780 (59.9%) coronavirus-related deaths.
Montreal’s COVID-related death toll has increased by one since the city’s last update on August 13. The city has also announced 151 new cases since then.
