A drive-thru Christmas Village is coming to the countryside next week

If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit from the comfort of your own car, the quaint town of Ormstown has got you covered.

Speaking of covered, the town’s fairgrounds will be fully decorated in Christmas lights and decor for three days, offering a drive-thru Christmas village from December 3 to 5.

The illuminated drive-thru village will be hosted on the historic grounds of the Ormstown Fair, a popular country fair that has been in operation every summer since 1914.

Traditionally, the Ormstown Fair is a mixture of carnival rides, barn animals, derbies, tractor pulls, live music, and agriculture awareness.

Due to COVID-19, however, the 106th edition of the fair — scheduled for June 2020 — was transformed into a drive-thru light show to adhere to physical distancing guidelines, a trend that will be increased during next week’s Christmas village.

The light show will feature 17,000 Christmas lights brightening up an array of fairground objects, including trucks, barns, and trees.
