With the Carifiesta party just days away, Montreal will cue the dance floor for another Caribbean-based event. As part of the Taste of the Caribbean festival, the Old Port’s Clock Tower Beach is about to host a massive, free dance festival for the first time.

Get your dancing shoes shined and get ready to have your toes tapping, Montreal.

This three-day festival will specialize in a specific genre of dance each day and will feature both dance workshops and lessons for free.

Day one will focus on kompa style dancing, day two will feature reggae dancing, and the festival will sum up with salsa dancing on day three.

The Caribbean, renowned for their rum, is also offering The Rum Zone, where guests are allowed to sample various categories of rum and a variety of Caribbean tapas.

Festival goers will also be able to purchase food from authentic vendors, attend mixology workshops and see live music.

The festival’s official launch will be held on Thursday, July 12 at 2 pm with a dance performance and Caribbean bites and cocktails.

A dance festival just in time for wedding season, seems like a perfect fit.
