Former Montreal Canadiens defenceman PK Subban was back in town over the weekend. And he made every second of it count.
Subban kicked things off by visiting the Montreal Children’s Hospital, a place that’s been near and dear to him since he pledged to raise $10 million for it in 2015.
True to form, the hockey player turned ESPN analyst didn’t just stop by — he went all in, reminding his Instagram followers that for “every dollar you give, I will match up to $250,000.”

He spent time hanging out with patients, surprising kids in their rooms while celebrating the 10th anniversary of the PK Subban Foundation and his Helping Hand initiative.

Quebec-born UFC legend Georges St. Pierre also got in on the action, signing a Canadiens jersey for the charity.

Subban didn’t just put smiles on kids’ faces, though.
With Canada Post workers on strike, the Toronto native hit the streets to collect cheques from some of the foundation’s donors. His trek included a stop at the home of a Canadiens superfan named Howie. The visit turned into a blast from the past when the two recreated Subban and Carey Price’s iconic Triple Low-Five celebration right on Howie’s doorstep.
“Pricey, if you’re watching, it’s been a while since we’ve done this…” Subban joked in a video, perhaps alluding to former Canadiens coach Michel Therrien banning the celebration back in 2013.

Subban, who spent six seasons with the Canadiens, rounded up his action-packed Montreal weekend with an Instagram photo dump.
The Sunday post featured shots of him enjoying Montreal’s nightlife, catching up with friends, and, of course, digging into a massive late-night poutine.

While he hasn’t donned a Canadiens uniform since 2016, it’s clear that Subban still feels right at home in Montreal.
