
After losing the likes of Kaiden Guhle and Kirby Dach, the Montreal Canadiens have added another name to their injury list.
The team announced on Tuesday that defenceman David Savard has suffered an upper-body injury that will keep him “out indefinitely.”

The 33-year-old was likely hurt after blocking shots in his own zone in the third period of Monday night’s win against the Buffalo Sabres. Up 3-1 in the final frame, Savard got in front of a puck that knocked the blade off one of his skates.
He headed to the dressing room after the long shift and did not return.

Over five games this year, the Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, native has logged two assists while averaging 20:22 of ice time a night.
With him out of the lineup, the Canadiens called up defenceman Gustav Lindstrom on an emergency basis from the Laval Rocket, Montreal’s AHL affiliate, on Tuesday morning.
With a record of 3-1-1 to start the season, Montreal will play their second game in two days when they take on the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre tonight at 7:15 pm ET.
