Monkland Village is about to get a much-needed coffee boost as Cafe de Mercanti is slated to reopen its doors to start off next week.

The popular Italian cafe, scheduled to reopen on May 4, will be exclusively serving takeout in disposable cups.

The tasty nectar of the caffeine Gods will be a welcomed addition to NDG’s Monkland Avenue which has been at a standstill since the pandemic.

Mercanti will be adjusting their usual 7 am to 6 pm hours to 8 am to 2 pm for the time being.

“Please continue to respect social distancing rules,” said the popular cafe’s Instagram post. “Thank you all for your patience and support.”

The cafe’s Old Port location reopened on Thursday, April 29, following the same guidelines.

Note: While local parks, shops, and events are beginning to reopen, Santé Quebec is reminding individuals to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. If you decide to go out, maintain the 2-metre physical distancing guidelines.
