Amber Alert still on for missing 6-year-old boy in Quebec

An Amber Alert has been issued for a  six-year-old boy who has been missing since Thursday evening.

According to CBC, the Amber Alert for Louka Fredette was issued after the body of his mother, Véronique Barbe, was found at a home on Antoine-Séguin Boulevard in the town northwest of Montreal.

Fredette has been missing since 5:35 pm on September 14.

According to provincial police, Fredette was taken by his father, Ugo Fredette.

His white Ford pickup truck was recovered near Lachute but there was no sign of him or Louka in the area.

Police say that Louka and his father were spotted together at a Walmart in Saint-Eustache around 7 pm.

Anyone with information about the boy or his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
