5 places to go strawberry picking near Montreal

Strawberry season has arrived! Rather than paying a fortune for a strawberry rhubarb pie from your local grocery store, why not spend an afternoon strawberry picking in one of Montreal’s nearby family farms? You’ll get a tan, you’ll get to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and best of all, you’ll return with loads of deliciously juicy strawberries. La Ferme Quinn

Now that we’ve passed mid-June, the strawberry fields at La Ferme Quinn are finally ripe for the picking (literally). Open from 9 am to 5 pm, seven days a week, admission to La Ferme Quinn is just $5 and gives you access to the pick-your-own strawberries and rides on the farm tractors and wagons.

Ferme Roland Cloutier

If you can’t sort yourself out to go strawberry picking in the near future, you’re in luck. Ferme Roland Cloutier offers strawberry picking from June all the way until September. In addition to strawberries, you can also pick raspberries, blueberries, watermelon, and cantaloupe throughout the summer months. And before you leave, be sure to try a slice of their fresh strawberry rhubarb pie – it’s as good as it gets.

Vergers Pierre Tremblay et Fils

Featuring a yummy range of strawberries and raspberries extending from the summer into the fall, Vergers Pierre Tremblay et Fils is located just 35 minutes outside of Montreal in Mont St. Gregoire. The berries are really the stars of the show at Vergers Pierre Tremblay et Fils, however, they do offer pick-your-own apples, plums, and pears at various times throughout the summer. Plus, there are pony rides for the little ones.

Belisle et Fils

With nearly three whole months of berry picking, A. Belisle et Fils is a great place to spend an afternoon this summer. Run by three brothers since 1983 and conveniently located in St. Eustache, you won’t have to travel far to be collecting an entire bucketful of fresh, juicy strawberries.

Les Fraises Louis Hebert

Les Fraises Louis Hebert has been providing Montrealers with strawberries for over 50 years. The farm is made up of 26 acres and is home to seven different varieties of strawberries. For all the adults out there, Les Fraises Louis Hebert even sells fancy strawberry-infused drinks like a sangria mix and a sparkling drink called Bubbles of Love.
