Train rides are one of the most relaxing modes of transportation and travel.

You are gently rocked by the clickity-clack of the tracks while gazing out the window at the beautiful sprawling scenery whisking by, lulling you gently into a blissful trance-like state.

But what if we told you that you could enhance your experience even further by adding in a dash of mystery, a sprinkle intrigue, and perhaps a small dose of murder.

Napa Valley Train‘s delightfully twisted Murder Mystery packages are available once again by popular demand.

“Mystery. Mayhem. Murder. With jealous, jilted lovers, deadly secrets, and plenty of intrigue, our vintage train sets the stage for a devious game of cat and mouse as you search for a killer — or hide your insidious identity from your fellow dinner guests,” the website states.

Guests will also receive delectable meals featuring delicious cuisine from California on their journey.

However, in this instance, it is served with a side of crime-solving and justice.

“We hear it pairs nicely with a smooth pinot noir.”

The packages consist of a three-hour train journey aboard the lovely vintage train, a multi-course meal, and wonderfully entertaining murder mystery dinner theatre.

According to the website, the festivities are put on by The Murder Mystery Company who organizes a variety of “immersive, themed murder mystery experiences.”

Examples of other themes include “Dance with Death,” “Crime and Punishment,” “Midnight at the Masquerade,” and “Till Death Do Us Part.”

If you’re an avid Harry Potter fan, leave October 24 open in your calendar, as that is the “Wizards and Witches” evening.
