Germain Hôtels, a Canadian family-run business that owns and operates Le Germain Hotels, Al and Alt+ Hotels across the country, announced in an email to customers that they would be temporarily suspending all activities amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting our daily lives. Every sphere of society is being affected, and the tourism industry in particular,” the email reads.

“To that end, we have been making difficult decisions to help protect your and our employees’ health, and to ensure the sustainability of our business. As of today, Alt Montreal, Alt Quartier DIX30, Alt Ottawa, Alt Calgary East Village Hotels and Le Germain Hotel Toronto Mercer are temporarily suspending all activities.”

Guests with reservations in one of the aforementioned hotels between March 18 and April 19 will be contacted and relocated to a sister property in the same city.

“Allow us to commend the extraordinary work accomplished by our teams over the past few weeks to ensure your safety and comfort in order to continue to provide you with our expert guest experience,” the statement continues.

“On behalf of the entire Germain Hotels family, we thank you for your trust and loyalty. We are looking forward to welcoming you in one of our establishments soon.”
