After casinos and other businesses began to welcome visitors back last week as part of the city’s Phase 2 of reopening, Las Vegas continues to see an increase of travellers and residents flocking to its most popular destinations.
Officials from Nevada Health Response noted an “above-average daily increase” in confirmed known cases of COVID-19 on June 9, which they took as a sign that residents need to be reminded of the various preventative measures in place to decrease transmission of the virus.

“When we began reopening Nevada and substantially increasing testing, we anticipated we would see an increase in new cases diagnosed,” state epidemiologist Melissa Peek-Bullock said in a statement. “Nevada has flattened the curve, but the virus is still among us. That’s why it is important Nevadans continue to safeguard their health by staying home when possible, washing their hands frequently, wearing a face-covering in public and staying at least six feet from other people if possible.”
According to a release published on the Government of Nevada website, this uptick in cases is not enough to signify a break in the general declining trend. However, authorities will continue to monitor it.
Still, individuals continue to gather in groups without adhering to physical distancing measures or wearing appropriate facial coverings, potentially facilitating further transmission.
Here is what Las Vegas looks like right now.

Okay. Expanding on that term, my prediction is due to no social distancing and no masks being used in Las Vegas; there will also be no #CES2021.
