The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on Saturday, but Edmonton Oilers fans will have to wait until Monday to see their team in action.
The NHL has released the full playoff schedule, with the Oilers series against the LA Kings beginning Monday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The series shifts to Rogers Place in Edmonton on Friday, April 25.
- Game 1: Monday, April 21, Edmonton at L.A. (8 p.m. MT)
- Game 2: Wednesday, April 23, Edmonton at L.A. (8 p.m. MT)
- Game 3: Friday, April 25, L.A. at Edmonton (8 p.m. MT)
- Game 4: Sunday, April 27, L.A. at Edmonton (7:30 p.m. MT)
- Game 5: Tuesday, April 29, Edmonton at L.A. (TBD)
- Game 6: Thursday, May 1, L.A. at Edmonton (TBD)
- Game 7: Saturday, May 3, Edmonton at L.A. (TBD)
Oilers fans will be happy to know that Sportsnet has picked Jack Michaels to be the play-by-play announcer for the series. He’ll be joined by Louie DeBrusk and Gene Principe.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Oilers and Kings have met in the first round, but unlike the previous three meetings, Edmonton doesn’t have home-ice advantage. The Oilers beat the Kings in seven games in 2022, six games in 2023, and five games in 2024.
Should the Oilers beat the Kings again, they would play the winner of the series played between the Vegas Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild in the second round.

The Stanley Cup Playoff bracket is set (NHL)
The Stanley Cup bracket is loaded with Canadian teams this year, with five of seven teams from the Great White North qualifying this season. The Winnipeg Jets won the Presidents’ Trophy as the NHL’s best team, while the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens qualified in the Eastern Conference.
