There's a new Vancouver-based coffee house just north of Edmonton

After opening several spots in Edmonton, Waves Coffee House has finally opened a location in St. Albert.
Waves Coffee House was founded in 2005 in downtown Vancouver, and it’s since grown into a brand spanning across Western Canada. With over 25 locations in British Columbia and Alberta, this coffee house, according to its website, “set out to create a place where friends, family, and strangers could feel good coming together as a community.”
The business recently announced that its first St. Albert location would be opening soon, and the day is finally here.

Waves Coffee House held its soft opening on Sept. 11, 2026.
If you’re wondering what kind of drinks you’ll be able to get, you’ll be able to find some classic cafe espresso beverages, as well as iced drinks, teas, and blended drinks. According to its website, the chain also uses 100 per cent specialty-grade coffee beans purchased directly from small-lot farmers and real Belgian chocolate for its delicious mochas.
As for food, you’ll find fare like fresh sandwiches, wraps, soups, and seasonal pastries.
The coffee house is open every day of the week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This means no matter if you’re looking for a new study spot, a casual first date cafe, or somewhere to just grab a drink and chill, Waves Coffee House has got you covered.
If you find yourself in St. Albert, or just so happen to be a local, this spot is definitely one to check out.
