Uber is partnering with the Government of Canada to help get every Canadian vaccinated.

Thanks to a collaboration with Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, Uber’s rideshare and food delivery apps will start displaying information on the effectiveness and safety of approved COVID-19 vaccines. The hope is that this initiative will help to increase understanding and confidence around the vaccines and encourage Canadians to get vaccinated.

“To support the COVID-19 recovery effort, we want to inform Canadians that the best vaccine is the first vaccine made available to them,” said Matthew Price, GM of Uber Canada.

“Through our partnership with the Government of Canada, we can do our part to accelerate vaccination efforts by using Uber’s platform to instil confidence with timely and credible information.”

Vaccine information will be displayed to riders, drivers, delivery people, customers, and restaurant partners in English and French across all Uber channels.

Users can expect to see banners pop up with vaccine information thats directs them to credible government websites. More information will be sent through email newsletters.

“When you get vaccinated, you are protecting yourself and stopping the spread of COVID-19,” said Minister of Health Patty Hajdu.

“By partnering with Uber Canada, we will be able to share important information about COVID-19 vaccines with millions of people in Canada. We know that vaccines work and save lives. By making this information easily accessible, people can make informed decisions to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.”

In addition to helping Canadians choose to get vaccinated, Uber Canada continues to enforce a “No Mask. No Ride” policy, requiring both drivers and riders to wear a face mask or covering when using the app.
