If you’re on the hunt for a new job in Edmonton, one local company has made Forbes‘ list of the World’s Best Employers for 2026.
Forbes partnered with research firm Statista to compile its seventh annual ranking of the best employers globally, surveying more than 300,000 employees across more than 50 countries.
The survey asked participants to rate how likely they were to recommend their employer to friends and family, with factors including salary, career advancement opportunities, work-life balance, and company reputation all considered.
Companies had to employ more than 1,000 people and operate internationally to qualify for the international list.
Edmonton-based Stantec ranked 699 on the list of the world’s 900 best employers.
Founded in 1954, Stantec provides professional consulting services in areas including engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, and project management. The company operates across Canada, the United States, and other international markets.
It’s not the first time Stantec has earned a spot on a major ranking.
In September, Time released its 2026 list of the World’s Best Companies, with Stantec placing among the top 250 of the 1,000 companies included.
Earlier in July, Forbes and Statista also named Stantec the seventh-best company in Canada for workplace culture, making it the highest-ranked Edmonton-area employer on the list.
Stantec also appeared on Forbes‘ 2025 list of the World’s Best Employers, ranking 699th that year as well.
Calgary-based Canadian Natural Resources was the only other Alberta company to make Forbes’ 2026 ranking, placing 676th.
Shopify was the highest-ranked Canadian company on the list, coming in third overall.
