Craft paradise: Everything you could need is FREE at this Edmonton store
Do you have a corner in your home that’s amassed a collection of old things that you want to get rid of? Like, you know that they have a second shot at life somewhere that isn’t in the dark collecting dust, and that’s why you haven’t brought yourself to throw it all away yet?
There’s a place in Edmonton where you can take those things, and others can take them home to reuse completely free of charge. The Edmonton Reuse Centre is a City-run initiative to promote the circular economy and reduce waste in our landfills.
Some things you can find and give to the Reuse Centre include gift bags and various paper products, old sports equipment, arts and crafts supplies, office and school supplies, home decor, wood, party supplies, and many other items.
Items must be in good condition and are only accepted during the centre’s hours of operation.

It’s part of the growing movement toward a circular economy, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. Blenderz Garment Recyclers is another business in Edmonton that contributes to the circular economy.
At Blenderz, clothing donated that is in good shape is sold as is, while other garments and textiles are upcycled or turned into craft kits. Sales of clothing help pay for Blenderz’s textile recycling, which is often expensive to recycle in-country.
