One of Edmonton’s most popular spots for chai and bites has closed its doors.

Remedy Cafe, a popular Edmonton cafe chain, closed its Jasper Avenue location on Sunday, May 18, after 13 years.

“For the past 13 years, we thank you for your patronage, Edmonton,” the cafe said in an Instagram post announcing the closure.

Remedy Cafe opened its doors at 109th Street and 87th Avenue over 20 years ago by Sohail ā€œZeeā€ Zaid. Since then, it has become a staple in the city.

Known for its menu of Indian and Pakistani dishes with a twist, and its Kashmiri chai, the loss of Remedy is a loss to Edmonton’s downtown core.

Remedy Cafe has several locations across Edmonton and Sherwood Park.
