Corey Perry yells at Edmonton Oilers teammates in new behind-the-scenes Stanley Cup Final video

Connor McDavid’s Stanley Cup Final outburst was the star of the first season of Prime Video’s NHL doc, FACEOFF: Inside the NHL, and now it looks like it will be Corey Perry’s turn.

The streaming giant released its first trailer for the second season of the behind-the-scenes NHL documentary earlier this week. Though no Edmonton Oilers players will be specifically followed this season, they did have exclusive access to the Stanley Cup Final once again.

In the final clip of the trailer, the documentary shows footage from inside the Florida Panthers’ visitors’ locker room, where the Oilers were. It was a familiar scene as the team looked downtrodden, but instead of McDavid lighting a fire under his team, it was the veteran Perry.

He did not have any nice words to say about how the team was playing.

“Are we stupid, or just dumb?” an angry Perry can be heard in the video. “Keep your stick on the ice, quit [censored] and go to work!”

It’s unknown exactly when this footage was captured during the Stanley Cup Final. It likely came from the first intermission of Game 4, where the Oilers found themselves down 3-0 and facing a potential 3-1 series deficit.

There is just something about that specific visitor’s locker room and Oilers players yelling at their teammates.

Edmonton would go on to make the improbable comeback, scoring three goals in the second to tie and eventually winning in OT off a Leon Draisaitl game-winner. After the game, it was revealed that Perry had said something to the group that helped spark the comeback, though it was not initially revealed to reporters.

Unfortunately, Perry was not able to break his Stanley Cup curse with the Oilers, losing in the final for the fifth time in the last six seasons. The veteran also left Edmonton in free agency, opting to sign with the rival LA Kings for this upcoming season.

Fans will surely hear more from this scene when the second season of FACEOFF: Inside the NHLĀ launches Oct. 3 on Prime Video.
