Edmonton is thrilled to welcome one of Jasper’s most loved sandwich shops to the region.

Patricia Street Deli is a family business run by owners Glen and Wendy Leitch. This shop was a staple to the Jasper community, having opened in 2004, and beloved by both locals and visitors to the town.

They were forced to evacuate due to Jasper wildfires in July 2024, and in February 2025, they started a Kickstarter campaign to help support the rebuilding of their business in a new location: downtown Edmonton.

The Kickstarter had 313 backers who pledged a total of $40,865 to help bring Patricia Street Deli back to life.

In April, the journey to their new location began.

Glen and Wendy solidified their location in downtown Edmonton, just near Grant MacEwan University, and quickly began the construction of their new home. This new location will continue serving its core menu items, like the sandwiches their fans know and love, but the extra space allows them to expand the menu as well.

“We intend on sourcing our ingredients and beer locally and providing lots of options for our gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian friends,” the team said on their Kickstarter. “We may not be in Jasper anymore – but we will still be your home away from home.”

As they begin to prepare for their grand opening, the deli is also looking for people to join their team, having posted hiring notices on their Facebook and Instagram.

Initially, the opening was slated for July 2025, but after construction delays, the grand opening is expected this fall.

“Because the Patricia Street Deli was never just four walls. It was a vision, a heartbeat, and a dream that still lives on — and always will,” said the team in a recent Facebook post. “We cannot wait to welcome you into our new home.”
