This popular Latin food market is opening a massive new Edmonton location
A popular Latin market is opening a new location in the city.
Edmonton’s Paraiso Tropical announced at the beginning of this year that it’d be opening a new, bigger location. It has established itself in Edmonton for many years as the go-to place for any and all Latin-American food and goods you might need.
Since the original opening in 1991, it has only continued to grow and grow in and around the city, making it an Edmonton staple. Prior to opening in the ’90s, it was extremely hard to find Latin goods within the city, and many Latin American immigrants missed the warm, tropical flavours and cuisine.
This restaurant and grocery store is more than just a Latin-food hot spot. It’s a place of culture, community, and connection in Edmonton.

This new location is going to be even bigger and better, and, as said on its Instagram, “designed to make you fall even more in love with Latin American culture.”
With a bigger kitchen and dining area, as well as more space entirely, this will be Paraiso Tropical’s biggest location yet.
“We are expanding so we can bring you more of the flavours you love, a bigger kitchen, and a true ‘Taste of Paraiso,'” says the team on Instagram.
Despite many asking on Instagram, Paraiso Tropical has not released the new location’s address or neighbourhood. Keeping it a surprise, the team said more information would be released soon.
