Edmonton Oilers reveal lines for pivotal Game 4 vs. Kings

The Edmonton Oilers have a chance to tie up their opening-round series against the LA Kings tonight, and they’re sticking with what worked.

Following an encouraging 7-4 Game 3 victory that got the Oilers on the board in this series, head coach Kris Knoblauch was not about to make any drastic changes to the roster heading into Sunday night.

Edmonton took to Rogers Place ice this morning for a pre-game skate, where they trotted out the same lineup configuration. The Athletic’s Daniel Nugent-Bowman shared the full lineup on social media.

The top line will see the familiar trio of Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Zach Hyman reunite for a second consecutive game. Leon Draisaitl will then hold things down on the second line with Vasily Podkolzin and Viktor Arvidsson.

Moving into the bottom-six, Evander Kane will look to follow up a strong Game 3 next to Adam Henrique and Connor Brown. Mattias Janmark will then pivot the fourth line with Trent Frederic and Corey Perry.

There have been questions about Frederic’s health in this series, but the 27-year-old chatted about how he’s felt through the first three games.

“I felt the best last game, felt like I was skating better,” Frederic said. “Not thinking as much… just try to go out and skate. That’s when I’m at my best.”

Things will stay static on the backend despite Troy Stecher being medically cleared to return to action.

Calvin Pickard is set to get his second-straight playoff start for the Oilers as well, following Friday’s victory. He is searching for his third-ever win in four career playoff games.

Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m. MDT.
