Evander Kane was having some fun following a massive Edmonton Oilers Game 3 victory over the LA Kings last night.
Kane, who was suiting up in just his second game this season, played a massive part in the Oilers’ victory, scoring the tying goal with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation.

The goal was originally looked at for a kicking motion, though it was deemed that Kane was able to get his stick on the puck before it crossed the line. After that ruling, the Kings made a rather puzzling decision to challenge for goaltender interference.
The referees determined there was no interference on the play, which put the Kings shorthanded and wound up being costly, as Evan Bouchard gave the Oilers the lead just 10 seconds later.

After the game, Kane joined the TNT panel for an interview, and poked some fun at the Kings when answering a question from Paul Bissonnette.
“We talked about it, we knew we were going to get at least one in the third period, we just couldn’t give up anymore,” Kane said. “We did a great job of that. We shut them out in the third period finally and were able to get a goal. Did you make that call down to the Kings bench to challenge that? Appreciate that.”

While Kane was having some fun afterward, he was all business throughout the game, proving what an impactful player he can be for this Oilers group when healthy. He wound up finishing the outing with two points along with four shots and five hits in what wound up being a 7-4 victory.
All of a sudden, what appeared to be a down and out Oilers group has life once again. They’ll now look to even the series up at two apiece on Sunday night at Rogers Place.
