Edmonton Oilers’ Draisaitl is getting married soon and the McDavids have arrived
Wedding preparations are well underway for Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl.
The German superstar will exchange vows with longtime girlfriend Celeste Desjardins this weekend in a beautiful ceremony being held in the South of France. This comes a year after Draisaitl popped the question while having a romantic picnic on a Spanish beach.
Desjardins has been busy documenting the festivities on social media, and she revealed that one of her maids of honour is Lauren Kyle McDavid, the wife of Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
“My beautiful maids of honour,” Celeste wrote in the story.

Celeste and Lauren have been best friends for quite a while, with the two often being seen together at Oilers games. Just last summer, Celeste was Lauren’s maid of honour at the McDavid wedding. The two also shared a sweet moment during the Oilers’ 2024 run to the Stanley Cup Final, jumping into each other’s arms after the team eliminated the Dallas Stars.
It’s a good match, as their husbands are also very good friends. Lauren posted a photo of the foursome driving a golf cart at the wedding venue on Thursday morning.

McDavid isn’t letting one of his best friends’ weddings get in the way of a little training. Lauren posted a photo of her husband stretching out in a beautiful pool this morning. With the 28-year-old set to sign a record-breaking contract extension any time now, it doesn’t hurt to always be in shape.

The Draisaitls don’t appear to be leaving any stones unturned as they prepare for their big day. In another post on Celeste’s Instagram, she showed off a custom bathrobe with “Mrs. Draisaitl” embroidered on the back of it. She also showed off custom pillows with the couple’s soon-to-be initials on them.

With the wedding festivities expected to ramp up as we head into the weekend, you can anticipate more pictures and videos of the celebration to be posted on social media.
