Alberta RCMP renew plea for help in finding man who vanished from a small town in 2007
RCMP in central Alberta have issued a new request for help from the public in a missing person case that began nearly 20 years ago.
Innisfail RCMP is requesting public assistance in locating missing person Ohanes “Johnny” Melkon. Mounties say Ohanes was last seen on March 28, 2007, leaving his residence on 56 Street in Innisfail, Alta. He was 27 years old at the time of his disappearance and was also known by the name “Johnny Melkon.”
Ohanes was reported missing by his family on April 3, 2007, when they could no longer contact him, and he failed to attend his place of work. Ohanes worked in Blackfalds for a pipeline company, and seasonally in the Sylvan Lake area building fences. Ohanes was known to frequent Red Deer, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake, Penhold, and Innisfail.
Ohanes was originally from Montreal and had moved to Alberta for employment in May 2005.
Ohanes Melkon was described as:
- 5 ft. 9 inches tall;
- 161 pounds;
- Slender;
- Bald or shaved head or black hair;
- Brown eyes; and
- Medium complexion.
Ohanes would now be 46 years old, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Innisfail RCMP are looking for any tips or information that may help further this historical missing person case. This missing person case has remained active since 2007, and our investigators are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward so we can work toward locating Ohanes Melkon.
