A bunch of new restaurants and cafes have been popping up in and around Edmonton, and we’ve done the duty of rounding up most of them for your convenience.

El Taco Loco has established itself as an excellent authentic Mexican restaurant in Spruce Grove, and it opened its second location ever in downtown Edmonton, serving up Sinaloan Mexican cuisine in a festive atmosphere with warm and welcoming hospitality.

Global Ramen

This new restaurant launched its soft opening on Sept. 10, and it’s been open for business ever since. The spot specializes in Nagoya-style Taiwan mazemen, a soup-less, broth-less variation of ramen.

Waves Coffee House

Waves Coffee House was founded in 2005 in downtown Vancouver, and it’s since grown into a brand spanning across Western Canada. After opening several spots in Edmonton, Waves Coffee House has finally opened a location in St. Albert on Sept. 11.

Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen

Gordon Ramsay’s first Canadian location for Hell’s Kitchen has been highly anticipated over the past year. It was slated to open at River Cree Resort and Casino in Summer 2026 after being announced in June 2025, and it finally opened on Sept. 14.

Gwalia Sweets and Restaurant

This spot is known for being a pure vegetarian Indian restaurant, sweet shop, and namkeen store, with locations all across North America. It’s been serving up its authentic sweets and Indian cuisine since 1994, and Edmonton got its first location this month on Sept. 18.

Rival Burger

Rival Burger, a popular smash burger food trailer and vendor at Queen Mary’s Market, opened its doors to one of the new restaurants in the city last weekend, on Sept. 25.
Though they are lacking some elements, like its liquor license, the restaurant has entered its soft opening phase and will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Deville Coffee – Southgate

On Sept. 26, Deville Coffee held the grand opening of its new Edmonton location in Southgate Centre, making this its fourth location in the city.

Be-a-Bella Glenora

Be-a-Bella, a local candy shop, announced it’ll be opening another location in Edmonton, this time in the Glenora neighbourhood.
The official opening date for this new location is Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. As for the rest of the regular opening hours, stay tuned, as the business hasn’t revealed them just yet.

The Fancy Induced Burger

The Fancy Induced Burger announced that the Toronto-born burger restaurant would be expanding into Edmonton to open its first location in the city.
The exact opening date hasn’t been announced just yet, but the team behind the restaurant assures us that the opening date, along with “crazy opening deals,” will be revealed in due time.

Tesoro Caffe Bar

After 15 years, Tesoro Caffe Bar is returning to Edmonton at a whole new location within the city.
Described as “a modern Caffe Bar inspired by Italian hospitality and European cafe culture,” the new cafe plans to open its new Edmonton location very soon, according to its socials.
