Some mushrooms are currently being recalled in Alberta due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
On Aug. 4, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall notice for Highline brand sliced Organic Mini Bella Mushrooms, weighing 454 grams and with the code 199AHMCF.
The affected products were distributed in Alberta, but no related illnesses associated with the product have been reported.

The agency is urging Albertans to check if they have purchased the recalled product and not to consume or serve it if so. Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the location they were purchased from.
While food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell bad, it can still make you sick, with symptoms including vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
Pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
