Why this town near Edmonton is about to double in size for one day

A massive community-wide garage sale with more than 200 vendors is about to take place north of Edmonton, and it’s the perfect place to hunt for unique finds for your home.

The Gibbons Town Wide Garage Sale runs all day this Saturday, Sept. 6, in the town about 37 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.

The annual event is among the largest of its kind in Alberta, with the community’s population of just over 3,200 nearly doubling during the single-day sale

In addition to the hundreds of vendors lining the streets, food trucks will also be available for visitors looking to refuel after a long day of bargain-hunting.

Vendors can be found along 50th and 51st Street, on nearby side streets and at the Gibbons Museum.
