Evolution Wonderlounge sets date for closing its original downtown location

A long-standing gay bar in Edmonton has announced a closing date, bidding farewell to patrons later this fall.

The downtown location of Evolution Wonderlounge, which celebrates its 12th anniversary this September, will be holding its final evening on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the staple in Edmonton’s nightclub scene had found a new location on Jasper Avenue and 115th Street, in a space formerly occupied by Reign Bar and Lounge.

The new location, known as Evo, opened its doors this summer and operates seven days a week, featuring a full kitchen.

The last call event at the old location will feature DJs Jazzy Geoff and Otter Nonsense. Tickets are available online.
