Flying Canoë Volant Festival blends French-Canadian, Metis, and First Nations traditions

A three-day, free, family-friendly festival is coming to Edmonton this weekend, inspired by the legend of The Flying Canoe and French Canadian, First Nations, and Métis traditions.

Flying Canoë Volant Festival celebrates local history and “everything that is great about a long winter’s night.”

The festival will include art, dancing, music, and lots of winter activities drawing on the different cultures being celebrated.

Taking place from January 30 to February 1, Flying Canoë Volant Festival will see events at various venues across Edmonton, including the Mill Creek Ravine, Edmonton Ski Club, La Cité Francophone, and Rutherford School.
