Fish and chips restaurant moving to Edmonton after 17 years in B.C.
A fish and chips restaurant that has fed residents and visitors to Peachland, B.C. for nearly 20 years has closed up shop, but the shutdown is a win for foodies in Edmonton.
Ships A-Hoy in Peachland opened 17 years ago, and its owner posted to Facebook recently stating that they will be moving back to Edmonton, with the shop opening in YEG in 2027.
“To everyone that stepped through my door or visited us at the window over the past 17 years. Thank you so much. You have left me so full of memories, and it’s so hard to close it up,” the Facebook post stated.

“Peachland…. You are unique, small but big to its roots! Always welcoming everyone to come and visit and just take a moment to sit and look at the lake. Ships Ahoy was the love we shared through her from all of the people named above. We were just family trying our best and having a lot of fun doing it.”
The restaurant was known for its homemade batter, tartar sauce, and coleslaw, as well as other offerings such as homemade muffins or cabbage rolls.
While we await the opening of this new location, you could pop by this new Leopold’s Tavern that opened just outside of Edmonton, or this new spot for wings in downtown Edmonton.
