Edmonton Oilers players show off hilarious Halloween costumes at team party

Thanks to a break in their schedule, the Edmonton Oilers chose to celebrate Halloween a little early this year.

With no games scheduled for Sunday or Monday evening, the Oilers decided to kick back and have some fun with a Halloween-themed team party. Costumes from the entire team and their partners have slowly started appearing on social media, and they are absolutely incredible.

Perhaps the best costumes of the night went to Leon Draisaitl and his partner, Celeste Desjardins, who dressed as Marv and Harry — also known as the Wet Bandits — from Home Alone.

Not only did Draisaitl and Desjardins include several small details including burn marks and a tarantula, but they also chose to quote an iconic scene from the popular flick.

Not to be outdone, Connor McDavid and his wife, Lauren Kyle, put together a costume that has generated a ton of laughs on social media.

McDavid dressed up as Colonel Sanders, while Kyle wore a chicken costume. The Oilers captain even made sure to wear a white suit.

Another great costume idea came from Vasily Podkolzin and Shakir Mukhamadullin, who seemingly attempted to go with a gangster-like vibe.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Isaac Howard and his girlfriend Holly Mingo went with a Disney-themed costume. Howard dressed up as Hercules, while Mingo fittingly went as Megara.

Colton Dach, meanwhile, chose to go for a look that will resonate with Will Ferrell fans. He and Grace Metcalfe went with an Anchorman theme. Dach dressed up as Ron Burgundy, while Metcalfe went as Veronica Corningstone.

Though this did mark their first Halloween party of the year, the Oilers have already been embracing the spooky season for several weeks. Earlier in the month, the team got together at a Halloween-themed event for some bonding time early into the 2026-27 campaign.

Safe to say, the Oilers are feeling quite good about themselves right now, and for good reason. They’ve jumped out to a 6-1-1 start to the season, which has them second in the Pacific Division.

They’re starting to get a whole lot healthier, too, which should only help them further in what appears to be a major bounce-back season.
