There's a new South Indian restaurant in Edmonton with over 35 dosa varieties

Dosa Glory is the newest addition to Edmonton’s culinary scene, serving up authentic South Indian cuisine to the city.

This restaurant was born out of the desire to bring South Indian food and flavours to a wider table without diluting the flavours or the cultural aspects of the dish. They’ve successfully done just that, having opened up the place over two weeks ago to folks across Edmonton.

With over 35 varieties of dosa, from classic ghee masala to inventive paneer tikka and pav bhaji creations, you won’t have any trouble finding something you’ll love.

Dosas may be the pinnacle of what’s served here, but the restaurant’s name has even more of a story behind it.

“We chose ‘Dosa’ because it is the heart of South Indian cuisine – humble, versatile, and endlessly creative,” says the team on its website. “We added ‘Glory’ because that is exactly what a perfectly made dosa deserves. The motto, Love at First Bite, is the standard we hold ourselves to with every order that leaves our kitchen.”

As for the menu, there’s definitely a lot more than just dosas.

“We believe in respecting tradition while staying open to flavours that excite the modern palate – which is why our menu also celebrates Indo-Chinese classics, hearty Mughlai curries, and even fan-favourite chicken wings tossed in global sauces,” reads its website.

Whether it’s one of its fragrant and bold meat starter plates or one of its Indo-Chinese dishes instead, there’s a wide variety of options for you to choose from, all of which are delicious. Wanting to check out what’s available before you make the drive? The entire menu can be found online.

You can find this spot on the south side, and although the outside looks unassuming, the atmosphere indoors is absolutely incredible.

Dosa Glory is open every day of the week, meaning you can get your daily dose of dosa any time you need. From Sunday to Thursday, it’s open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays, it stays open as late as 11 p.m.

If you’re looking to expand your palette and support some of the newest spots in the city, it’s worth a drive to the south side. We’ll definitely be making an appearance, and we hope to see you there, too.
