The holidays are here in Alberta, and Costco locations across the province will be extending their hours temporarily.
Following Thanksgiving, the bulk retailer adjusted its weekend operating hours for warehouse locations in Alberta to be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 6 p.m. on Sundays, until Jan. 1, 2026. Near the end of November, the hours for Sundays were extended to 7 p.m. for locations across the province.
The change to the warehouse hours in Alberta is set to stick around, as Costco Canada recently announced on its Instagram that the holiday shopping hours will be permanent across the country.

Costco warehouses in Alberta will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with no difference made to operating hours during weekdays.
It’s not the only change Costco has made to its hours, thanks to the busy holiday shopping season.
It was previously announced that the sole Costco Business Centre in Alberta, located in west Edmonton at 10310 186th St. NW, will be open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., while its Sunday hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., giving customers an extra hour to shop each day.
It’s important to note that even with the extended hours, the business centre will only operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, while open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Boxing Day. It will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Unlike the change to the Costco warehouse hours becoming permanent, regular hours will return to the Edmonton Costco Business Centre on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
There are 18 Costco warehouses in Alberta, the third most out of any province or territory in Canada.
