Coronavirus case on school bus confirmed in Edmonton

Edmonton Public Schools released information about more confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday, including one individual who was inside a school bus while infected.

The district says the bus was carrying students from Kameyosek School and Tweddle School, and two students from each institute have to self-isolate at home. The district did not say whether the infected person was a student or the bus driver.

There has also been a seventh coronavirus case detected at Centre High Campus. That school is already on Alberta Health’s “watch” list because of its ongoing outbreak.

Someone at Minchau School also tested positive on Tuesday, and 25 students plus five staff members from that school need to self-isolate.

There are currently 22 Edmonton schools dealing with coronavirus outbreaks, and four of them have been moved to the province’s “watch” list because their outbreaks involve five individuals or more.
